PATRICIA KELLY LAUNCHES NEW TOUR HONORING LEGACY OF LATE HUSBAND GENE KELLY  Send This Review to a Friend

Patricia Kelly, speaking on June 1, 2013, on “Gene Kelly The Legacy” Orange County, is launching an international tour of her show devoted to talking about and illustrating the life and art of her late husband. The Orange County event, Saturday, June 1, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (PDT), was set for Chapman University's Memorial Hall in Orange, California.

This is the same show that I lauded in a review after seeing it performed last July at Lincoln Center, New York. (See under Special Reports “Gene Kelly Through the Eyes of Patricia Ward Kelly.”)

I wrote at the time: “Patricia Kelly proved to be a special person in her own right. A writer and scholar, she is also a terrific speaker who would grace any platform.” Her show is highlighted by film clips and anecdotes. It was presented on the occasion of Gene Kelly’s centennial celebration.

The international tour that she has scheduled will include San Francisco, Dublin, London, Tokyo and other cities.

Gene Kelly, of course, is known the world over, and based on what I saw in New York, audiences should be delighted in hearing more about him from the woman who is committed to carrying forward his legacy to the arts. Posted May 28, 2013.
