TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2012--CELEBRITY DESTINATION  Send This Review to a Friend

I can’t help it. Every time I come to the Toronto Film Festival, my mind flips back to its beginning when the organizers had to fight to get celebrities from the film world there. If they nabbed, for example. Peter O’Toole or Frank Capra, it was a cause for celebration. If they announced someone who didn’t come, the press was all over them.

But this year, as in the past, I marveled how the festival has become a magnet for celebrities who want to participate or just appear to be seen, photographed and get in the columns. It is a mark of how internationally important the Festival has become.

I tried to keep tabs on who showed, Here are some of them in no particular order. Ready?

Ben Affleck, John Goodman, Christopher Walken, Kristen Wiig, Darren Criss, Keira Knightley, Jennifer Lawrence, Johnny Depp, Halle Berry, Adam Sandler, Hugh Grant, Kristen Dunst, Audrey Tautou, Elle Fanning, Sam Rcckwell, Colin Farrell, Tom Hanks, Susan Sarandon, William H. Macy, Ken Burns, Marion Cotillard, Helen Hunt, Michael McGowan.

There were many more, of course, but you get the picture.
