BALANCHINE CELEBRATION


The centennial of the birth of ballet great George Balanchine occurs January 22, 2004, and the New York City Ballet is taking note of the centennial in style. It has programmed a celebration of Balanchine from November 25, 3003 through June 27, 2004. Included in the season dedicated o the choreographer will by some of Balanchine's much-praised interpretations, including classics such as "The Nutcracker," "Swan Lake," "The Sleeping Beauty," "Coppélia" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream."
